Finally! A “Wetland!”

We finally had some water available for exploration!

Most of the kids found themselves irresistibly drawn to this tiny, temporary wetland. There was a great deal of splashing, dropping of rocks, mushrooms, and branches into it, and attempts to balance on said rocks and branches.

L. stubbornly continued to remove debris from the water as quickly as the others threw it in!

T. rolled this stump into the water and then announced loudly, “I need someone who is really strong and is wearing boots to turn this over so I can stand on it!” He looked fixedly at me…

Z. discovered some kind of eggs in the mud of the water hole! We theorized about what kind of animal may have laid them. Insect? Amphibian?
